Phast introduction

This course is an introduction to the concepts and models within Phast. It will cover all areas of consequence modelling within the software, including discharge, dispersion, pool formation and evaporation, fires, explosions and toxic effects. During the course, students will be required to practice and apply their new knowledge of the software through extensive hands-on workshops.

Phast Risk introduction

This course is an introduction to the concepts and models within Phast Risk and it is a pre-requisite that attendees have already attended SA-01 Phast Introduction training course. The course will cover all areas of risk modelling within the software including assessment of the impact of hazardous releases on the human population, taking account of probablistic meteorological data (wind-roses), event frequencies, ignition probabilities, and location of population areas. During the course, delegates will be required to practice and apply their new knowledge of the software through extensive hands-on workshops.

Phast advanced discharge modelling

This course can be a module of the full 4 day Phast Advanced training or can be delivered standalone. This is a comprehensive course on the discharge models available within Phast.

Phast advanced dispersion and toxic modelling

This course can be a module of the full 4 day Phast Advanced training or can be delivered standalone. This is a comprehensive course on the dispersion and toxic modelling available within Phast.

Phast advanced flammable modelling

This course can be a module of the full 4 day Phast advanced training or can be delivered standalone. It is comprehensive course covering all the flammable models available within Phast. Models which are covered include:

Phast advanced risk modelling

This course can be a module of the full 4 day Phast Advanced training or can be delivered standalone. It is a comprehensive course on the risk calculations performed by Phast Risk. Topics covered in the training include:

Phast advanced modelling

This 4 day course comprises the individual Advanced Phast modules SA-03 through SA-06 which can be delivered as a single integrated 4 day training course. This course may also be customized according to the needs of the student and can include consulting services e.g. trying to resolve specific scenarios.

Phast Risk for quantitative risk assessment

This course provides extensive guidance on how to use Phast Risk within the context of a Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA). All the key aspects of the QRA process using Phast Risk are covered in the course. Some of the topics included are:

Leak

This course provides an introduction to the concepts and models within Leak, DNV’s leak frequency database application based on the UK HSE Hydrocarbon release database. All the key aspects of setting up a frequency analysis project in Leak are covered in the course. Some of the topics included are:

Orbit Onshore for risk based inspection

This course is a comprehensive course on Orbit Onshore and its application within Risk Based Inspection (RBI). The course will teach users the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodology within Orbit Onshore and the details of the likelihood and consequence modules. It will teach users the practical aspects of Orbit Onshore in executing an RBI analysis including data input, calculations, interpretation of results and formulation of a final inspection plan. During the course, participants will be required to practise and apply their new knowledge of the software through extensive hands-on workshops.

Neptune introduction

This course is an introduction to the concepts and models within Neptune. The course will teach users how to link models and setup the dataflow. It will cover the basics of risk modelling within the software including consequences of a release, event trees and leak frequencies as well as some offshore specific topics. It will also cover the use of MS -Excel as a model and how to structure projects through use of loops and substudies. During the course, students will be required to practise and apply their new knowledge of the software through extensive hands-on workshops.
