In a world of too much and misleading information about climate change issues, it can be difficult to separate the facts from the myths, and to decide what to do. This course gives you the basic knowledge about climate change, and an overview of the opportunities in the regulated and voluntary carbon markets.

DNV’s new course is designed to be an inspirational introduction to the topic of climate change.
The first module of the course runs through the basic concepts of climate change science, ranging from the scientific evidences and key impacts, to the sources of the main greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming.
Having established the rationale for acting, the course outlines the international action on climate change, giving participants the basic understanding of how regulated and voluntary carbon markets work. Important concepts such as additionality and baselines are explained. An overview of volume and values of the markets helps participants understand the importance of the growing trade in carbon credits.
