Description
This is an advanced course to Sesam focusing on shell structures and models for hydrodynamic and structural analysis. Main focus will be on modelling in GeniE, but there will also be a session on integrated analysis including stability and hydrodynamic computations involving both HydroD and Sestra. Results processing including stochastic fatigue are included by use of Xtract and Stofat. Lectures and exercises on these topics are included.

Furthermore, the participants will learn the process of performing a global fatigue screening followed by a detailed fatigue analysis based on sub-modelling techniques (Submod, Xtract and Stofat). The sub-modelling session will also show various ways to create detailed models for execution in GeniE or by use of Submod.

Of equal importance is the session on how to do re-design (i.e. efficient re-run code checks) of beam structures in GeniE - the participants will learn how to significantly reduce man-hours needed to do design iterations.

Learning objectives
Learn how to use concept modelling technique of GeniE to create advanced models for integrated analysis of structural, hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis.
Learn how to make parametric models based on the scripting language in GeniE.
Learn how to efficiently do code checking and re-design of frame structures (GeniE).
Get hands-on experience in defining and executing a project involving modelling, hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, structural analysis, sub-modelling and fatigue.

Target group
Engineers and naval architects performing design engineers task of fixed and floating offshore structures built up of beams, plates and shells.

Prerequisite
It is preferred that the participants have experience in basic use, course SE-01 Concept based FE modelling and analysis and code checking, courses SE-08 Topside design or SE-09 Jacket and topside design of GeniE as main focus is on more advanced usage of the program.
