DNV Passage Planner is a tool for making a detailed plan for a safe passage between ports.

The plan will reduce the risk of grounding in shallow waters, and the risk of collision between ships in areas of high traffic densities.

The DNV Passage Planner is a separate product which utilises the database of DNV Navigator in order to easily make a passage plan and meet the requirements of port state authorities and oil majors. It includes a squat calculator and way point editor.

Objectives
The DNV Passage Planner (PP) is intended to be a tool for the Navigational Officer while planning the passage. The navigator must himself gather and compile all information that is required to be present in a proper made plan. The PP is designed with the aim of reducing the time the navigator will need to spend on the task of creating a passage plan. The layout is fixed and the content corresponds to the recommendation of the ICS Bridge Procedures Guide.

By following the Passage Planner, the navigator will easily see what kind of information is required to be present in a proper passage plan. The PP is made with default values which easily may be altered. Additional drop-down boxes are available with pre-programmed choices the navigator may select and later edit.

NOTE: The "ICS BRIDGE PROCEDURES GUIDE" is used as a guideline for the DNV Passage Planner. The full plan, with all its topics, is in compliance with the above mentioned guide.
