DNV has joined the EU funded project QUANTIFY on global change and ecosystems, and is responsible for two activities on modelling of emissions to air from maritime operations in the past (from 1900), present and the future (year 2100).

The understanding of short-term and long-term changes such as fleet, fuels and propulsion is important for DNV's task. The project will provide provision of forecasts and policy-relevant advice, which will be supplied to governments and to international assessments of climate change and ozone depletion, such as the Kyoto Protocol.
