DNV Consulting has won a contract to deliver stress management services using a risk-management approach to the London Fire Brigade.
In this project, DNV Consulting will assess whether stress-control measures are sufficient using a risk-based approach and put forward a prioritised action plan for improvement. To achieve this, DNV Consulting will investigate the stressors in the London Fire Brigade work environment, the likely exposure levels of LFB staff to the stressors and the potential consequences resulting from stressors.
Max Hood, Assistant Commissioner of the London Fire Brigade said "DNV Consulting’s excellent delivery on previous projects for the London Fire Brigade has led us to award this to you".
According to senior consultant Grant Foster, "the project is an exciting new application of DNV’s risk-assessment methods and increases DNV Consulting’s credibility with possible customers in the stress-management market. This potential market is huge for DNV."
Stress-related illness is estimated to cost the UK alone between £3.75-7billion (5.5-10.3billion Euro) per year, according to consultant Richard Archer.
