Brian, based in DNV’s Calgary office, was the principal designer of the Test Field and was one of several NACE volunteers to complete its installation in 108°F Houston-in-August temperatures. Several challenges were encountered during the design process due to space limitations – challenges requiring nothing less than the expertise of Brian’s caliber. The Test Field provides several essential practical training applications for ‘hands on’ training of corrosion professionals.

Brian’s service to NACE is extensive and in-depth: past and present instructor in their Cathodic Protection training programs, chairmanships of several executive level committees and task groups, NACE Vice President, and NACE President in 1995. Past recognition includes NACE’s 1986 Distinguished Service Award.

DNV’s Dr. Oliver Moghissi, in-coming NACE President, stated “Brian’s personal attributes have helped NACE become a trusted institution over its 80+ year history. Brian’s contributions of active participation, leadership, and genuine caring for a full 50 of those 80 years help to sustain NACE’s leadership in the corrosion community.”

Brian’s achievements and contributions to NACE and the corrosion industry exemplify DNV’s strategic goals to develop highly competent, high performing and engaged people who are committed to DNV’s Purpose, Vision, and Values.

We congratulate and commend Brian for his efforts and dedication.
