During the week of September 27th in Calgary, the Conference attracted over 1300 delegates from 43 countries. Attendance from DNV included personnel from offices in Calgary, Columbus, Houston, Høvik and Rio de Janeiro, representing Energy, Software and Cleaner Energy

On Tuesday evening of the weeklong event, DNV hosted 170 IPC attendees at a hospitality event held at a popular local restaurant. In attendance were DNV clients including pipeline operators from Canada, the U.S. and South America, and representatives from U.S. and Canadian regulatory agencies, research organizations and other industry partners. The reception, which was organized by Calgary’s Gail Hildenbrandt, was well received by everyone and proved to be a highly successful and entertaining networking opportunity for DNV.
DNV’s participation in the technical sessions was unmatched with a total of 13 technical papers presented by 12 DNV employees. Those presenting were Gunn Stirling (Høvik), Taylor Shie, Steven Polasik, Francois Ayello, John Beavers (2 papers), Neil Bates, Bill Amend, Melissa Rubal, Robert Denzine, Cássia Cardoso (Rio de Janeiro), Kim Mork (Houston), and Olav Fyrileiv (Høvik). Additionally, DNV led three tutorials, and chaired 6 sessions of the technical program, as well as a full-day panel moderated by Jake Abes on the very pertinent and timely subject matter of CO2 pipelines.
Peter Bjerager, Director of Operations for North America Energy observes that “DNV’s service offerings are well suited to the needs of the pipeline industry as represented at IPC. The subject matter presented by DNV personnel in the technical sessions drew extensive attendance and was appreciated by the delegates. All in all, DNV had broad representation at IPC with which I am very pleased. I thank all DNV attendees for their contributions.”
Jake Abes, Country Manager for Canada, continues: ”IPC has become the premier conference for the global pipeline industry and it is encouraging to see a growing number of participants from other DNV business units and regions outside of North America. Together with the participants from DNV Columbus, Calgary and Houston, we were all able to showcase DNV’s global presence and the breadth of our strong expertise in integrity and risk management of pipelines
