For all vessels enrolled with DNV ERS two computerized models are prepared. One is for the assessment of the stability and longitudinal strength, the other for the assessment of the strength of local structures such as decks, sides, bottom, bulkheads etc.
Damaged structural elements or damaged local structures can mainly be excluded from the strength model, so the actual strength capacity is considered whenever necessary. Cross work with the two models allows the proposal of relevant actions to be taken to relieve both the hull structure locally and excessive stress. In addition to the models, a set of drawings and documens are maintained appropriately archived at all time.
