Greener shipping – Baltic leadership

With the objective of saving the marine ecosystems in the Baltic Sea, several actions are being implemented; one of these is emission reduction requirements for the shipping industry. These requirements leave shipowners three options for modifications to their ships if they want to continue trade in the Baltic Sea. Of these options, LNG fuelled engines is the best option both from an environmental and an economic point of view.

2011-09-21DNV and Triality won the Lloyd’s List Innovation Award

The Lloyd’s List Global Award for the shipping industry’s best innovation project 2011 was won by DNV. At a ceremony last night at the London Hilton Hotel, Chief Operating Officer Ioannis Kourmatzis accepted the award on behalf of DNV.
