Purpose

Training develops knowledge, motivation, and inspiration to create real impact within an organisation. Training also improves the ability to manage risk and to address critical issues such as global governance and corporate responsibility.

Stakeholders are increasingly demanding that suppliers operate both responsibly and within a defined framework (TS 16949, SPICE Automotive, etc.), and that they work proactively along social and environmental parameters in addition to economic factors.

Training is a tool which can be used to support efforts in building sustainable businesses, moving from compliance to embracing and integrating social, environmental and economic factors into business strategies. Moving mindsets from compliance to sustainable operations is the first step to position a company for the future.

Managing risk in the automotive industry is of vital importance and begins by implementing the right processes, often those required for example by ISO/TS 16949 or SPICE Automotive, created for and based on people. These are recognised as basic requirements.

To excel in the industry it is also necessary to consider techniques to fully understand customer specific requirements (CSR), to improve processes beyond compliance (e.g. using VDA 6.3) and to consider developing processes with a minimum cost (e.g. using the Toyota Lean Production model).

Choosing the right process is important, but it is also important to raise the competence of those involved in key elements of the processes. The purpose of any training course must be to make each participant more capable and motivated and to empower them to implement changes and improvements.
