DNV is officially eligible to verify CRTs generated from the newly released Climate Action Reserve (CAR) Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) and Nitric Acid (N2O) Protocols.
This month, DNV verifiers successfully passed the qualification standards for verification of CAR projects seeking registration under the:
Nitric Acid Production Protocol.
US ODS Protocol.
Article 5 ODS Protocol.
Adding these two sectors allows DNV to provide the full spectrum of carbon offset project verification services for the CAR Registry.
DNV is now accredited to verify the following CAR project types:
Landfill gas capture and combustion.
Capturing and destroying methane from manure management systems.
Conventional and urban forestry.
US and Article 5 country ODS destruction.
N2O abatement from nitric acid plants..
Firms in the process of CAR registration of ODS destruction and N2O reduction projects should consider contacting DNV. Our international experience in verifying CDM and VCS projects in these sectors is second to none. With a global team of over 200 climate change professionals, several with direct experience verifying ODS and N2O projects, DNV is uniquely suited to provide professional and timely CAR verification services. Furthermore, through the use of DNV’s international network of verifiers, we can work with firms to minimize cost and time for verification of Article 5 ODS projects seeking CAR registration; which require international site visits and familiarity with the country of origin environmental regulations.
For questions and quotes on verification services for the new CAR Protocols, please contact lead ODS and Nitric Acid verifier David DeVooght (david.devooght@dnv.com) or Senior Project Manager Dr. John Warmerdam (john.warmerdam@dnv.com) Additionally, if you are seeking assistance on CAR project design, monitoring and registration requirements, please feel free to contact DNV.
