Sustainability+and+Climate+Change

Sustainability creates value when properly managed for your brand and your stakeholders.

The business challenges are very real and immediate

Companies face a broad range of environmental, social and regulatory risks and challenges throughout their business operations. Managing this new risk reality while guaranteeing consistent business results means staying ahead in all facets of sustainability.

With stakeholder expectations broadening over the past decade, companies increasingly are being held accountable for what they do with the money they make as well as for how they make it.

DNV views sustainability as a business approach to achieving long-term value for shareholders and broader stakeholders. Sustainability is an active process of managing risks and seizing opportunities arising from environmental, social and governance practices at both strategic and operational levels. DNV’s sustainability and risk management expertise as well as investor insights helps companies worldwide make qualified decisions based on independent assessments in order to minimize the downside and take advantage of the upside.

DNV collaborates with our clients to map vital sustainability impacts throughout their operations as well as their supply chains, prioritize opportunities for improvements, design and implement technical systems to increase efficiency and communicate sustainability management efforts and their impacts to stakeholders. These comprehensive offerings help our clients build trust and confidence towards their stakeholders and in doing so, turn risks into rewards.

DNV’s services are based in our technical expertise in identifying and quantifying sustainability risks and opportunities, through carbon and water, product sustainability, supply chain impacts, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. DNV also closely tracks the sustainability and climate change arena bringing to our strategic initiatives the most up-to-date analysis of market, policy and technology trends.

Validation, Verification and Monitoring
In addition to advisory services for every aspect of an organization’s sustainability risk management approach, DNV provides validation, verification and monitoring services to the carbon markets. DNV has been the global market leader in validation and verification of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) emission reduction projects for over 10 years.
